Biography

Mr. Parks was born and raised in Carrollton, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in Geosystem Engineering & Hydrogeology, an inter-disciplinary program offered by the Departments of Petroleum Engineering and Geological Sciences.

During this time, Mr. Parks also gained invaluable experience working for an independent offshore oil & gas exploration company in the Central Gulf of Mexico, for a reservoir engineering software development company, and an engineering consulting firm.

Mr. Parks then chose to pursue a career in law, and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center in 2005. During law school, Mr. Parks focused his studies on energy & environmental law, technology and intellectual property.

After being admitted to practice by the Texas Bar in November 2005, Mr. Parks has spent over eighteen years representing clients on a wide range of cases in civil litigation, insurance, and energy & environmental matters. Mr. Parks has represented a variety of energy and insurance companies, small businesses and individuals. He has consulted on transactional matters, and has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in litigation before Texas and Federal Courts.

Mr. Parks has significant experience litigating a variety of complex civil matters in both state and federal courts. His practice focuses on commercial disputes, energy litigation, and insurance coverage lawsuits. His experience includes representing oilfield operators in litigation, serving as outside counsel to energy and oilfield services companies, representing insurers and insured in coverage disputes, and prosecuting claims against equipment manufacturers in product liability, property damage, and wrongful-death litigation.
